The Hard Workin' Orange Skirt
It's funny taking pictures of yourself in public. I obviously don't have trouble but when you think about it, it's strange. My self-timer caught me speaking with a stranger in the park this morning. As you can tell, it was a pleasant exchange.

Why, yes, I am wearing this orange pleated skirt for the millionth time. It's fun on the bike. Ruffle & flow!

It's weird and rare for me to wear such a normal t-shirt, but that's OK. I'm branching out. Covering up a little. Ha.
I got these sunglasses from Vans for $12. That's good for me since I'm tough on them/everything.

Random thing I found online today: 3 Free MixTapes for download here.
This new label MadeMe has a great logo too.
New Cute Bike LadyBlogs I'm glad I found - PineappleBike and Goodnight Little Spoon
Both stole my heart with girliness, ruffles, vintage goodness and bicycles - trust me.

Christmas in June at the L.A.M.B. Sample Sale
I woke up very early- Black Friday style on Tuesday, to get myself down to the L.A.M.B. sample sale. It was euphoric and got me totally high. Here are my trophies.

Of course I rode my bike- it was a glorious blue-sky morning. I rode down 2nd Avenue to 5th Ave & 19th street. It was cool, so jeans came out.

I emailed my sample-sale success story to the best No Doubt fansite. They do an awesome job covering every single thing Gwen Stefani does. I am so happy they used my pic!

The Linus is already making serious rounds on the internet. I mean Kate Middleton!
I wish I had this bag on Monday, because it would have looked awesome with my bright orange skirt.

That skirt is bicycle safety color blast + ruffly pleats were very fun to ride in!
Jenny, the webmaster of Beacon Street reaffirmed my pride in the butterfly print bag by telling me she didn't even know it was produced, so that tells me I snagged something very rare. I'm not usually into the sport of sample sales, but I'm so happy I got there Door-Buster style on this one!

Checking and Offending Peeps

I'm like, the only person who made it through this weekend without a sunburn. I'm the whitest white girl you know.

I'm so busy and I've bought so much stuff in the last 5 days. Hi.
Look at how cute I was dressed last Thursday! -But I was too busy/running late to stop and take an upright pic while standing on the ground.

Cuteness aside, today I wore my new Mom Jeans again. I had a PP meeting and this other really cute girl also had on pleated pants and I felt so happy! Get ready for pleated mom jeans causing offenses near you soon.

I got some sweet new make-ups on Friday. Studio Fix Mascara and Strange Potion coral-colored lipglass are the highlights.

My eyelashes are extra-spidery-style today.
Veeery end- I'm greasy but I'm feeling accomplished!

I stalked a Famous Person's apartment for my internet boyfriend who runs Trashy Travels tonight after my PP volunteer meeting.
The street where the apartment allegedly is would be a really kick-ass street to live on and it all added up and made perfect sense.
I also yelled at some rude person in a champagne colored SUV with Mass. tags who honked very rudely and me and another lady biker - "Way to honk at girls on bicycles!"
I mean- why would you honk at girls on bicycles on a tiny, lower Manhattan street? You should know that you will be stopped at a stoplight and the ladybikers will catch up to you and you will be checked. Sucka.

Like Hell I Can't Ride in These Shoes...

Yes, I have these in brown too. They're from Forever 21 and I think they're last season because I can't find them online to put a link.
My dress is really fucking short. -I just realized this.
My outfit info: Roxy dress. Gap leather jacket I've had forever, and pushed up the sleeves to look extra cool & tough with my heart-cut-out fingerless gloves and spotted tights.

I was in such a hurry to get home to walk Bonnie that I asked a stranger to take my photo in Central Park. This little walking path in the park is in tons of shows & movies.
I got HECKLED outside of work when I was un-locking and getting ready to ride home: "YOU CAN'T RIDE IN THEM SHOES! YOU CAN'T RIDE IN THEM SHOES!" I didn't even look in the direction of this rude person to actually get a look at them. He was yelling this at pretty close range. Yuck!

OF COURSE I didn't respond verbally or in any way whatsoever. You do not respond to 99% of strange men on the street in New York City. I didn't even look up.
But really, what a rude dummy. How did he think I got there in the first place?! I rode to work in these shoes, homie! And mind your own bees-wax, sir.
A Fed Ex guy said something like "You go with your bad self." And I did.
The weather's only been better for a few days and I've already been stopped by waaaaay too many fellas on the street who initiate conversation on behalf of the bicycle and then it turns into some other junk.
Last night at a stoplight I said "When that light turns green, I'm out of here - make it quick."

I saw buds on trees today, daffodils, buds that I don't know the names of - Four days into April and we're finally getting visual signs of spring!

I am happy! But remember, I'm not cycle chic, because I'm wearing a helmet. A bern watts helmet.
I feel pretty cute though. My little bow tie necklace is from Forever21. I have it in gold too. It was $2.80. Cheap chic!!! The lipgloss in this helmet photo is MAC Wonder Woman collection lipglass in Emancipation. That was a terrific purchase!
What's under that helmet? The best angle of my new haircut:

That is MAC Chatter Box lipstick. I think Speed Dial is prettier, personally, but this was fine too.
This was DAY FOUR of 30 Days of Biking, but I'm totally scared of all the rain in the forecast coming up.

Multi-Tasking-Multi-Tasking-Multi-Tasking

I love this Panda! I think this was Wednesday night coming home from work. I think I was too cold to stop and try to take outfit pics. Or I had to get home w/out messin' around taking pics. I multi-tasked.

I love the lace! This is a Forever 21 cheap-o skirt that I have taken-in the waist with safety pins. My technical seamstress at work giggled at my ingenuity.

I tried the Man Repeller Turban with a big ole' silk scarf to cover my hair...
because my hair is HORRIBLE right now! I look like Martina McBride! I'm going to cut it myself this weekend. I can't go on like this:

Wrap that mess up:

Friday I had to go casual. I was also too busy (and it wasn't worth it) to take outfit pics-

I feel a little lame that my coat clashes with my red cons.
OMG Cute Safety!

I overpaid for these clips because I got them at the hardware store in the freakin' garment district, but it was worth it already to not have to balance my bike while I dig through my purse.

Colorful Stuff

I used my Hunter Green eyeshadow from the MAC - Mickey Contractor collection and the MAC Wonder Woman Eyeliner Pen. You can always get the liquid eyeliner pen, but you can't always get it in Wonder Woman packaging.

The ultra-colorful scarf is Zac Posen for Target from last summer. It has a major safety-pin theme in the print. It's a huge scarf. I don't feel like I'm excellent at styling scarves in my outfits. I needed to dress-up the leopard tee and I think it worked!

MAC Wonder Woman. Yes, Again.

I went to have my makeup done at MAC for their Wonder Woman collection. (This is independent of the class I was going to, but was canceled because of snow.)
I had to tell them that I jumped the gun and went to the pop-up shop. I started the day with pretty great makeup so not much happened at the event in the way of makeup.
We socialized mostly! These girls are A. Wearing my rings and B. Cleaning them with either brush cleaner or eye-makeup remover. I am not superstitious about other girls trying on my engagement ring.

They had on cute Wonder Woman tees.
Liz used the colors in this palette on me and I was impressed with how pigmented the darker colors were. This is a great palette.

My tights got all ripped-up early in the morning, but I decided that they were "Kesha Style" and didn't fetch new ones. I wore them with pride. Then I threw 'em in the trash. ;(

I already own so many purples that I passed on this palette. I made purchases from the Mickey Contractor collection. The things I got are sold out online and they were uncertain if they could even sell me the few things they had left - They confirmed that they could before they broke them out for me to look at. I'm eager to use the palette I got and the hunter green shadow this week. Hopefully!
I also bought a new blending brush after Liz hooked my purple eye up like this. I got the 224 Tapered Blending Brush. Yes! It was a kick in the balls for $29, but it's going to be super-helpful many many days and nights and last for several years.

Pink Puffer Bicycle Style Ridin' All the Miles...

I was able to safely and confidently commute today and it felt awesome!
I love my new Roxy puffer. It's so bright and cozy and I could feel the powerful electric pink repelling cars from driving too close to me.

Yep, Gold Reeboks!

I also had an amazing hair day. I got the vented brush Gwynne told me to get and I used the brush & blow-dry technique she just taught me.

It's like take a vented little brush and brush it to one side really drastic and then go the other way...and the back will look nice and smooth like this:

Often I use these benches as a tripod for my self-timer bicycle shots but they were still covered in snow-

Many things are still covered in snow, but the streets were quite clear - They re-enacted parking tickets and the laws about moving your car around, so people had to dig their cars out and this cleared that area where bicyclists ride. That factor and near 40ยบ temps had me high on bicycle life.

I ended up removing the hood because it was distracting in my periferral vision. I still feel super-safe in this hot-ass pink puffer. -With lights at night on my way home of course!
