This Better Be it for Snow

This better be it for SNOW for this awful, horrible, no-good winter! We've had snow and hail this week. Not cool!

I was trying out some new shoes today - sequined oxfords from Forever 21. They were totally fine for bicycle riding. The soles are rubbery and gripped the pedals.

I was running late and only took this one snap. (If you're new to reading this blog - 99% of my photos are self-timer. The camera was propped on a fire hydrant on the street corner.)



This photo is from last night. The "salt" on the sidewalk is hail balls. Someone said that hail or diamonds literally fell from the sky on the day Elizabeth Taylor died. Awww.

Pink Puffer Bicycle Style Ridin' All the Miles...

I was able to safely and confidently commute today and it felt awesome!

I love my new Roxy puffer. It's so bright and cozy and I could feel the powerful electric pink repelling cars from driving too close to me.

I also had an amazing hair day. I got the vented brush Gwynne told me to get and I used the brush & blow-dry technique she just taught me.


It's like take a vented little brush and brush it to one side really drastic and then go the other way...and the back will look nice and smooth like this:


Often I use these benches as a tripod for my self-timer bicycle shots but they were still covered in snow-


Many things are still covered in snow, but the streets were quite clear - They re-enacted parking tickets and the laws about moving your car around, so people had to dig their cars out and this cleared that area where bicyclists ride. That factor and near 40º temps had me high on bicycle life.




I ended up removing the hood because it was distracting in my periferral vision. I still feel super-safe in this hot-ass pink puffer. -With lights at night on my way home of course!

24ºF

This is the face of a girl riding in 24ºF and it wasn't terrible.

I really cannot believe all the guys - mostly delivery guys - riding with no gloves, ear-cover, scarf - they are insane. Or tough as nails. I even put Carmex under my LipGlass. (MAC Viva Glam Cyndi Lauper Edt.)


I'm being pretty tough! I might look for some more fierce gloves. I also lost one of my knog clip-on lights tonight. I'm really great at losing bicycle lights. Luckily, I'm aware of this and had a back-up.


I lost the light after I stopped to take this on 6th Ave.

I went to the Hello Kitty Truck at Herald Square. They gave you a flier to pre-shop before you get in the line. I wasn't dazzled by the offerings so I chose something small that I'm going to give to some little Hello Kitty maniacs I know for Christmas.






I do not know this lady. They were taking too long so I had to just include them.





And these are the amazingly clear view I'm getting in Central Park at night now that all the leaves are gone. I'm sad they're gone but I'm dazzled by the lights.




When I was riding home the temp read 29ºF. Yay! Where are the high 40's?
