How I take my self-timer pics

This morning my normal self-timer spot was very busy, so I found a new one on the fly and thought I would show you how I take all these pics of myself all by myself.

I spotted this fountain. It's at a good height to hold my camera.

Then I set the camera on the edge.

Then I go stand in front of that shit.
Morning

I've got some new sandals that I got at Walmart in Kansas for $3! THREE DOLLARS.
3-Bones at Walmart Sandals
Sorry about the Buzzard Feet!

The tank is from walmart too. $3.88 -The print is kind of too much for a girl of 31, so I threw on the vest at work so I wouldn't frighten the older people with all this neon leopard on my chest.

Ooh! Here's my new Kate Spade necklace I got through an online sample sale.
Don't fight the shine
This is also what my hair is doing right now. I think this is a pretty good representation of my natural hair color BTW.

See my shiny skin? My make-up boyfriend told me that this summer he doesn't want anyone to wear powder. Don't fight the shine! You can't beat it, so why try? He also said "Lashes not liner" And coral lip.

I put on my helmet this morning then realized the ride would be more pleasant with a coral lip.

And it was!

Sofa King Hot
I stopped half-way home and got a Spongebob pop in Central Park because this day was Sofa King hot!

I wore jeans today and nearly burned alive. I rode home soooo sloooowly and still wanted to tear my jeans off and leave them in the street. I am not wearing jeans again until October.

Not Trying to Kill Myself

Some new, red, cheap, super cute wedges debuted today, but were not worn on the bicycle because I am not that fucking crazy, nor am I trying to kill myself.

Or maybe I'm out of practice in riding in crazy wedge-heeled sandals because I sure did it bunches last spring & summer!
Cycle Sandals
Last August.

Wednesday is my Friday
I rode in these sensible Adidas Honey Plimsoles. The sweater is Zac Posen for Target. Shades stolen from Matt. Leopard top - Forever21 - Marc Jacobs Jeans with safety-pinned monster cuffs.

This was my last day of work for this week because my Dad & his wife are coming to town.
Big tourism for a few days minus bicycles - But I'm sure I'll throw some pics up on here or my Tumblr.

I ride through Times Square every morning on my way to work. I think I always break a sweat and am pretty edgy because of all the opportunities of being harmed. GMA crowds, police chilling in the street, crazy people opening cab doors at will, delivery trucks, bill cunningham going the wrong way - It's a wake-up!

I shared 2 of my cheap-o cheap chic shoe links giving away my secret life of cheapness.

Day 6 - Wet Leopard Fur

My ride home this evening ended in wet faux-leopard-fur. Gross!
IMGP4535

That sweater-mitten felt really disgusting too. Wet and cold knit!

I started the day in sunshine. 44ยบ, but sunny.
Day 6? Started the day in sunshine...

On the wet ride home, a bicycle commuting gentleman stopped next to me and said "This is the downside of bike riding" and I replied "We're a lot better off than that girl back there on crutches."

When I saw the poor girl on crutches in the rain, I suddenly felt a lot better about my misery.
Also, at one point where traffic gets a little more tense, I realized I was focused on safety and kind-of forgot about my wet, cold, miserable stuff.

Like Hell I Can't Ride in These Shoes...

Forever21 Gray Booties
Yes, I have these in brown too. They're from Forever 21 and I think they're last season because I can't find them online to put a link.

My dress is really fucking short. -I just realized this.
Bike Outfit Today
My outfit info:  Roxy dress. Gap leather jacket I've had forever, and pushed up the sleeves to look extra cool & tough with my heart-cut-out fingerless gloves and spotted tights.

Central Park this evening
I was in such a hurry to get home to walk Bonnie that I asked a stranger to take my photo in Central Park. This little walking path in the park is in tons of shows & movies.

I got HECKLED outside of work when I was un-locking and getting ready to ride home: "YOU CAN'T RIDE IN THEM SHOES! YOU CAN'T RIDE IN THEM SHOES!" I didn't even look in the direction of this rude person to actually get a look at them. He was yelling this at pretty close range. Yuck!
Forever 21 Gray Booties
OF COURSE I didn't respond verbally or in any way whatsoever. You do not respond to 99% of strange men on the street in New York City. I didn't even look up.

But really, what a rude dummy. How did he think I got there in the first place?! I rode to work in these shoes, homie! And mind your own bees-wax, sir.
A Fed Ex guy said something like "You go with your bad self." And I did.

The weather's only been better for a few days and I've already been stopped by waaaaay too many fellas on the street who initiate conversation on behalf of the bicycle and then it turns into some other junk.
Last night at a stoplight I said "When that light turns green, I'm out of here - make it quick."

4/4/11 Panda - Dotted Tights

I saw buds on trees today, daffodils, buds that I don't know the names of - Four days into April and we're finally getting visual signs of spring!

Cycle Face
I am happy! But remember, I'm not cycle chic, because I'm wearing a helmet. A bern watts helmet.
I feel pretty cute though. My little bow tie necklace is from Forever21. I have it in gold too. It was $2.80. Cheap chic!!! The lipgloss in this helmet photo is MAC Wonder Woman collection lipglass in Emancipation. That was a terrific purchase!

What's under that helmet? The best angle of my new haircut:
Cute hair angle
That is MAC Chatter Box lipstick. I think Speed Dial is prettier, personally, but this was fine too.

This was DAY FOUR of 30 Days of Biking, but I'm totally scared of all the rain in the forecast coming up.

Out of Arkansas - Back in NYC!

Feeding Goats some Corn
Feedin' goats! Feeding goats in a new Arkansas Thrift Faux Fur coat. I was a little scared this fur was real, but I found the tag and pulled it out and read it very clearly. Fake! Yes!

Feeding these goats made me so happy, and I visited them on two occasions. They would eat the corn out of my hand with their soft little lips and then comp it with their loud goat teeth. It was so cute!

Gotta have iTrip
The first order of business upon Arrival in Arkansas was getting an iTrip. I was in the car SO MUCH on this vacation. I miss my bicycle and bicycle-friendly streets.

Christmas night, my husband found himself stranded at the Memphis airport and I had to drive up and go get/save him. We had catching-up to do, but we also bonded over our love for that new Kanye West album.

Sad, snow-sunk bicycles greeted me at LaGuardia airport when I finally got home this afternoon.
Sad BIcycle at LGA
This blizzard was major!

I did pretty much straight-up thrifting but after I got stuck because of the blizzard, I ran out of thrift stores and had to resort to the mall, but I found Christian Siriano for Payless on sale.
Christian siriano for Payless
This is my first matching heel/clutch combo and I think it may come out for New Year's Eve. But I'm scared of walking- the sidewalks are like dirty, big snow banks! Yuck! I need to wear crazy snow boots and sequins. -If I go out at all.

Slow down, be careful, stop breaking things...

Short Hair Progress
This girl...
-Matched her lipstick - MAC AMPLIFIED! - to her tank top on this dreary, cold Monday.

-Was happy to find this cute, useful tank for less than $2 in the Old Navy Clearance section.

-Is pleased with herself for having her bus ticket and hotel reservation and lady-friend date for the Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert Rally later this month.

-Would like to get a freshen-up haircut.

-Knows she needs to hold out another week or two because it's $$$.

-Had a very pleasant interaction returning the Ceramic White Pentax Optio H90 today because she broke it and her black one (which she also broke) came back repaired and good as new.
