Girls on my commute

My lipstick is MAC Full Fuchsia and it is no coincidence that it matches my shoes.
A lot of people have been finding my blog when searching for the sold-out limited edition MAC Party Parrot lip color and they/you should know Full Fuchsia is very similar.

I was so happy to have two girls, one of which I knew, and the other who I met at a stoplight, on my commute this morning. I get sick of seeing just dudes.


Kim make me feel so un-ambitious in my sensible flats. She has on legit heels, cute skinny jeans and a no-nonsense helmet. Something tells me she handles daylight savings better than most.


These are all good signs that this week is going to be alllright.

Dreariest Day Good Times

I thought this scene was pretty even though today's weather was the absolute pits.

Awesome things about today:  It was the first time I used public transp instead of bicycle since JUNE and I fucked up and got off the bus too early. I wasn't mad. I thought this was hilarious.

I'm pleased that I bike so consistently that I am rusty utilizing mass transit.
I also did an exotic subway route on my way home. I rode the N to the 6 if that makes any sense.

I saw the booties on the right and thought they were my GAP booties, then I got the heartwarming news that my GAP booties were SO MUCH CHEAPER than the ones on the right.
What a wonderful feeling!


When I went out at lunch I popped into Claire's and found these awesome beauties!

They're prettier in person, I swear and sparkly! -And on my way home, I found out they're warm :)

Day 6 - Wet Leopard Fur

My ride home this evening ended in wet faux-leopard-fur. Gross!


That sweater-mitten felt really disgusting too. Wet and cold knit!

I started the day in sunshine. 44º, but sunny.


On the wet ride home, a bicycle commuting gentleman stopped next to me and said "This is the downside of bike riding" and I replied "We're a lot better off than that girl back there on crutches."

When I saw the poor girl on crutches in the rain, I suddenly felt a lot better about my misery.
Also, at one point where traffic gets a little more tense, I realized I was focused on safety and kind-of forgot about my wet, cold, miserable stuff.

Pick-Pocket Thursday

I am obviously not too shy about my messy wardrobe hanging out in the background. Don't care.
Here's my Thursday outfit-

Forever 21 top, robot necklace, and skirt. Roxy tights with tiny bow ties and Steven by Steve Madden boots, which are surprisingly comfortable.

My outerwear look was cute. I'm happy this jacket (it's warm enough to wear him again) is back! I put on a hat because I didn't ride and I'm used to putting a helmet on last-thing before I leave in the morning, so something had to mess up my hair.



Thursday, after work, I got pick-pocketed on the bus. Illustrated with Google Maps for your understanding of location, length of trip- It was a short trip!


I'm not too upset because I wasn't paying that much attention to my bag/s and the bus was extremely over-crowded. It was raining. It was hell. My bag does not have a top zipper-


The saddest part is that the wallet that was stolen was so cute! Now I'm scared to carry a cute wallet. I'm going to rock it granny-style for a while.


I'm going to be protecting my bag like a football player and carrying zip-closure bags until the hole in my heart heals over the loss of that cute wallet.

This is what happens when you don't ride your bicycle!

Thumbs Down to no bus service this morning in my neighborhood.





Thank goodness for these boots! Rubber boots rule in this mess.

Though I'm so tired of wearing them. 


This is a very stressful rush-hour time trying to get onto the subway. Several cars passed before I could wedge my way into one. It was the body-to-body kind of time where people get groped & robbed and infested with bed bugs. Misery.


After I got close to work, after a stressful subway experience, I got happy and enjoyed the scenery. 30º has never felt so warm!


The poor Lions at the Library!



I have never been up close and personal with so many snow-blowers.


I had a silly idea after work to walk across Central Park to get home and that didn't last. I turned around and got in line for a bus!

My Melody (one of my McDonald's Happy meal watches) is keeping me on time. 

Work let-out early and I was able to go to H&M to get some Valentine's sorpresas for my little niece. I also got some tights and these heart-shaped sunglasses. I want everything in life to be heart shaped.

This is an after-work casual outfit for sitting on the couch with husband & doggie.

This will mark the first week since April where I haven't bicycle commuted at least one day. So sad! 
I hate wedging my body into the rush-hour subway!

Tuesday Commuter Moods

Snowing! Again! This winter must be stopped!


My outerwear look. Thank goodness for this little parasol. It's not a wide umbrella, which feels rude on cramped sidewalks, but it protects me.


This is really the 2nd time I've actually attempted to wear these Sam Edelman Faye shoes and they really are hard to walk in. I didn't even attempt to wear them outdoors. 

Just wear a beret til' it grows all the way out.

The past week I haven't ridden my bicycle to work at all. I will probably ride tomorrow, Friday due to a "heatwave" in the 30's. Sadly, that's the first week in many, many months that I have ridden so little. I've been taking so many photos on my bicycle commute that today I took some randoms on my other commute. 

Hoofing it from the subway. Geez!

I don't have a set commute that I love. There are a lot of options and I'm not settled. 

I need to do a post about how I collected (with the help of some loving friends) all of the Hello Kitty - Sanrio 50th Anniversary watches. This is Choco Cat, he matches a lot of my outfits, and he helped me be on time today.

My face looks like a huge dork and my hair is in a really low/sad/suicidal place, but this is pretty much my outerwear look for today.

I did have a black sequined beret on. I should keep it on until my hair grows into something cuter. 

Last night - Wednesday - I wore this to see Amy Sedaris again. 

And we were really lucky the event was slow, and we got to take a pic.

So Special & Sweet!!!! She insinuated I live in a group home. And on the other hand, after I named off a ton of crap I've collected & bought from her over the years - she was glad I got that poster I got back in November. 

I have a big New Year's Resolution/Change in my life I'm eager to get into. Can't wait to tell, and see how it goes.
