Quick Bicycle Date

Best Jacket
This jacket, you guys, OMG, it's the best jacket. I got this jacket & these boots out of our Manhattan Mini-Storage unit Friday night. The jacket is a vintage 80's ski-suit which I also own the pants to - and the boots are STEVEN by Steve Madden and they are not only comfortable walking boots, but also excellent bicycle riding boots.

Tonight we went on a quick trip to the Upper West Side to see Peaches do Jesus Christ Superstar all by herself. My purse is just hanging on my 'bars.

Peaches' singing was really impressive. Matt liked the outfits. (There were only 2 outfits, but I appreciated his commentary.)
Peaches Christ Ticket

The UWS was festive. If we stick around NYC for a long time, I'd love to live over there.
USW
This was also one of the quickest, shortest bike-date trips we've been on. Just across the park and down a few blocks.

Matt forgot his glubs. Misery.
MEH RIding C. Park

BUT - 42º felt so warm after my ride last week in 24º! I felt unstoppable tonight in the warmth and with all the lights around.
Action! Boots!

He's almost looking at me and letting me take his photo!

The Peaches performance was nice. It wasn't one of the most amazing things I've ever been to, but her singing voice is really nice. I love her. Not like I love Maddow, but I still love Peaches a lot.

The venue was the Ethical Society Culture center or something and the concert hall is just like a church. The seats were numbered, but we were sitting in pews. The drinks were HUGE. (speaking of church) I had a double rum & coke. Yum!
Peaches Christ Superstar
She had on a giant, gold lame open-sleeve dolman jacket in the 2nd act. Her accompaniment pianist was fantastic. That's all she had. Just Peaches + Piano.

Tomorrow I'm going to the BUST Craftacular, then next week will be busy then I go to Arkanasas! I'm spending Christmas Day on a FARM! I can't wait!

New Basket

11-16-10 015
This blanket of yellow leaves made my morning ride exceptionally lovely today.

Back to the basket-
New Front Basket
The polkadot tote does not hurt the cute factors.

These are the important things that must be carried in the polkadot bag who rides in the new basket. Very important stuff.
Basket/Bag Contents

Did you notice this little cutie? I got them at TJ Maxx on our frigid Friday late-night ride over there and back.
Roxy Earbuds
I love Roxy stuff. I think these buds are smaller for a little Roxy girl's ears too.

I took myself to bed and fell asleep at 9pm on Monday night. So typical of late-week, but downright shameful for a Monday, but dang! I woke up with extra-good skin.

Boring ol' Wednesday w/Photos

MUL Planters Graffiti Truck
I'm kind of jealous of how cute this graffiti is. This is a spot I ride through every.single.day.on.my.bicycle in the mornings and it's usually just ugly old Postal Trucks that I suspect are going to run over me any second.

On my way home, I rode over to LIncoln Center to check what's up for the Fashion Week Festivities... I sure didn't see much!

These Fashion Week S/S 2011 banners and me were getting blown away by some crazy wind.

Then it's time to ride around the park-

Pretty tame but guess what!? I'm on vacation for Rosh hahananana and I am going to see Jimmy Fallon tomorrow, then Friday is Fashion's Night Out and I have a very cute lady-date and we are going to make our rounds on bicycles!

My Brown Self

I'm enjoying my brown-self. And I had a great hair day today.
Brown Self + Good Hair Day
I don't have ONE GIMPY Part of my body from that self-tanner. Great self-tan success! I slept in a drop-cloth, but I didn't really need it. Model Co "Tan in a Can" Is the SHIT! If you can find it. Neither Times Square Sephora had it - I had to get it at Bendel's.
Good Hair Day

I'm not wearing much make-up with this new super-tan, but that's OK because it covers my zits & veins.

I didn't have the balls to take a Bike_Wardrobe_Remix pic outside the front of Sotheby's, but I took a pic of my bike with this cool poster. I've got to make it to this exhibit this weekend despite my full social schedule.

My life is so hard sometimes! Ha ha ha!

MY outfit today was Summer-Fridays-Friday plain Jane. Just jeans and a black tank.
IMGP0784
But I did put on a cardi and some heels at work. This was a day to mark on the calendar, because these jeans are size 27 (Citizens) and I did not have to do gymnastics to get them on.

Yesterday I wore this Billabong sundress from last summer with my wonderful "Summer of Cheap" Charlotte Russe wedges.
Outfit Thursday

I ate some Twizzlers that matched the print.

New Love in Pink & Green

I feel like I have a lot of photos to share. Here we go!

I knew something was up...

I was riding home from work and there were news vans and satellites everywhere and road blocks and I immediately thought - "Must be more bomb threats" But oh, no! It was Obama! He visited the NYPD to congratulate them on their quick work on the recent dumb bomber wannabe.

It was awesome because as you heard people say "It's Obama" to one another, they ran TOWARD the barricades to catch a peek. If it had been George Bush, I would have scrambled to find some rocks to throw. All these delivery boys were standing still on their bikes. I loved the excitement. I immediately took a turn on my bike past a barricade and a policeman whistled me back. So I was about a block away. This is the view across Park Ave.
Park Ave, Baby! Obama just passed thru!

This was my outfit that day. This is the best skirt ever and it has pockets.
Skirt w/Queensboro Bridge

This is a rainy-day outfit where I did not ride my bike. I was short a freaking NICKEL on the bus and I called out "Anyone got a nickel" guess who tried to help? Yeah, no one. The bus driver let me stay. A nickel!

This is from Obama madness afternoon. These buildings look so tall it makes me a little queasy to look at this image:

Friday at work, I used some technical drawing skills from this really hard, unforgettable class that I had in college. I helped make the cardboard insert pattern for this sweater-set that my company is manufacturing.
IMGP0009

I like my new job. I love it in that I don't stress. But I really need to start watching what I eat and work out. My technical seamstress eyeballed me and asked if I've gained weight. Of course, I have no real idea and did not have statistical data to participate in an educated discussion. So she broke out the measuring tape and yes, my waist was 1.5" bigger than when I was officially measured. I've eaten a lot of white bread and I've been drinking a decent amount of beer. I told her this and it was as if I told her I murdered someone. Or punched her in the belly.

So here is my lunch from Friday - It's a crazy, skinny girl lunch in my opinion, but I guess I need to move in a new, less-fat, direction.
It's HALF of a vegetarian sandwich and some watermelon.
My "crazy skinny girl" lunch Two of my favorite blogs are PriorFatGirl and TheSkinnyWebsite, so I'm going to start showing what I eat more often and talking about this new thing called "exercise." I'm going to immediately cut my dairy intake by about 75% - 90% and I bet it's going to be huge/helpful.

I switched to Almond Milk a few days ago for my coffee. No sugar. Just almond milk.

2 days after my waist measured 1.5" bigger, it was only 1" bigger. I have a measurement that I need to keep it under. Do you want to know? I will whisper in your ear if you really want to know. My bicep-girth also has a specific measurement that needs to be maintained.

This is my Friday outfit:
Friday - Fly Day
I don't wear a lot of scarves, but I think I should.

I'm co-hosting a baby shower in June for a sorority sister and we are doing the Lilly Pulitzer "Desert Tort" motif as our theme and I'm loving it!
I went to the Lilly boutique on Madison Ave. and got the party supplies.
Party Supplies!
The shopping bag has nice grosgrain ribbon that I tied onto my back rack and easily rode home. I only lived a few blocks away. I was nervous about the wrapping paper falling out.

I really enjoyed myself at the Lilly boutique. Even though I'm sure I was the poorest, dirtiest looking person they've ever seen. It was very un-New York in there.
Lilly P. Boutique - Madison Ave.

My favorite thing was the cursive and other freestyle wall-painting.
if these prints could talk... @ Lilly P.

I'm trying to decide what item I could wear. This mirror was really huge and beautiful.

This is the invitation. So freaking cute!

Bike NYC Pics

I'm trying to do some shoe-detail pics for this bike style blogger. Here we go!

I saw these mirrors behind the flowers and flipped a u-turn real quick-like!
Glitter TOMS + Orchids + Schwinn cream

My husband has on a devastatingly dorky sock/shoe combo. I begged him to let me know how he goes out like that. Otherwise, his outfit is fine, but he dresses really nice and that nice stuff is in the bag. Sad. There's nothing better than seeing people in fancy business clothes on bicycles.
Matt destroying cycle chic

In New York City, we refer to Henderson State University as the "Harvard of the South."

I took this while I was sitting at a stop light. People are literally living in Kirstie Alley's big hair. This is so sad! I'm so happy I don't live in this sort of building. Trashy adverts are actually scarce on my block. Thank goodness! This was really disturbing.
People are living in Kirstie Alley's Hair

You see peeps all the time giving interviews... this was at 8:30am.... I didn't recognize the person on camera so it was a bust. It's still funny that this is what I go to work looking at.
Interview - Let Down

This is blurry because I was in motion, but I love this Broadway pedestrian Greenway & bicycle lane stuff. I just love it.
Magical B-Way Bike Lane

Here are my outfits from earlier in the week -
Monday there was a wild monsoon so I didn't ride, so I wore a short skirt. This is an Arkansas Thrift dress that I got chopped to be short. Fingertip length if you need specifics.
5/3/Outfit
This dress is awesome especially because I probably didn't give $2 for it. I paid MUCH MORE In getting it trimmed & hemmed.

This is obviously a bicycle-riding look:

My friend Emily said "You have GOT to be the only person I know who goes to Charlotte Russe to look for work clothes!" But it's true! This summer I'm buying cheap shit only! This dress was $24 and I had a 25% off coupon. Summer of saving money!
