Who goes to that stuff?

If you stayed home New Year's Eve and watched the Carson Daily & Ryan Seacrest specials, you might wonder "Who goes to those pre-taped concert things?"

Me and my friend Sarah did! Back on that night about 2 weeks ago.

While it was not in our plan, we are Roots fans and we were happy to join-in. They played a couple of songs, and I wish I knew their music better to give a better digest.

Because he's absolutely precious, Quest was hanging out signing a bunch of drum sticks and tossing them into the crowd. I love that man!
Quest is precious

This was such a fun night before a bonus Roots concert got thrown our way. Great catching-up, pretty great weather... just random and fun and lovely.

Happy New Year! I think it's going to be pretty magical.

On the tee vee!

Goodbye, NYC Xmas Time!

Rockefeller

I'm a little sad, because I don't feel like I got to experience enough New York City Christmas Season this year. I feel like it's ending too fast. Tonight is my last night here, then I'm going to Arkansas for a few days.

This was the tree under the scaffolding it takes to light him up since he's a few stories tall- Back in November.
Daily Bike Pic - Rockefeller Center Tree

I'm extremely excited that my Christmas Day will take place on a farm with a rabbit among other animals. Seeing green grass is uplifting after being in The City for months, but seeing barn yard animals is almost too much excitement to handle.

Friday's work commute- 24º again. I'm getting used to it.

24º Again
Sequined beret under helmet again. Fake wal-mart glasses for wind protection.

Tonight we're going to a really Special Christmas Special and then I think a party in Harlem and I might stay up all night long, since I need to leave for the airport so painfully early. :)

I'll be gone and I'm going to stay off of computers, but I'll post some random camera phone pics to journal what I'm doing. I'll post our Family Christmas Card on Christmas Day.
It is heavily photoshopped and confused my Father. -But it's the most adorable thing you've ever seen!

Royally in Love

Warm Wednesday
I look like a leggy slutcat today but it was warm! The wind was really wild today but I was in perfect shape temperature-wise in this outfit for my commute.

A warm Wednesday
For the ride home I added a sweater under the jean-jacket and fingerless jeweled gloves and was perfectly warm.

Daily Panda Attempt

I went to check my bicycle (Now parking outdoors during the day - Eeeek! But my whole company knows to look at it out the window and visually check it.) So I went to physically inspect it and grab lunch and I discovered my front tire was totally flat, so I changed my lunch plan and took it to this bike shop I've found myself in several times now.
At the bike shop getting flat fixed
Getting fixed. I was eavesdropping on some fantastic Mexican/Hispanic/Assorted bicycle messenger socialization and I even got invited to something.

Back on the road!
Daily Bike Pic - Rockefeller Center Tree
I knew they had scaffolding all around the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, so I took a tiny detour to take a daily bike pic in front of that.

I just sat here watching the Dateline NBC Special on the Royal Engagement in some GAP jeans I got on clearance drinking Bud Light in a can as my most trashy American self. Ahhh... I LOVE having something to get stupid-excited about like that!

Check this from WWD today - they're tall! Awesome! One of the dress-makers was happy that they finally had nice, tall people to dress as Royals. Fun!
Love them! They're tall!

And this talks about the ring:
LOVE THIS!

Things are really busy until THE NEW YEAR. OMG We are freaking busy til 2011.
Matt is hosting a basketball slumber party. Don't ask. The absolute Maximum Capacity of people are spending the night in our sardine can apartment so I'm waiting to put my baby christmas tree up until that happens but I can't wait to get my sushi ornaments from my homegirl Kimbroly!

-I have 4 dates to stalk Amy Sedaris.

-We have several event tickets that I purchased months and months ago... Life is so hard! hahahaha!

Jimmy Fallon - Bust!

I got up bright & early and took Bonnie to Rockefeller Center to try to get a stand-by ticket for Jimmy Fallon.
She's good for waiting in line. Or just waiting for anything in general.
photo.jpg That's morning sunshine shining on her butt.

We should have left much earlier because the weather was good & the stand-by line was kind-of long.

We got a little voucher that looks like this:
DSCN2508

I had to come back at 3:45. Then at 3:45, they said "come back at 4" Then at 4... they said "Wait downstairs" Then I got a sack of candy at the NBC experience store and by the time I met up with all the stand-by waiting people someone was giving the announcement that there were ZERO Stand-By Tickets for today. Absolutely none of the stand-by people got in.

So sad! I used-up a whole day. It was too tiring to try again later this week. I'll watch him from home in HD I guess. Unless I can sign up waaay in advance, but I'll probably have a job then I won't want to use a day off for that.

The first thing I'm going to buy when I have some disposable income: A ticket to The Miracle Worker!
