Royal Wedding Julie

Royal Wedding Day
First shorts of 2011! It was so nice today and I'm almost letting myself believe we are in springtime.
I can't believe all the green is back on most trees!

I got these military shorts at J.Crew on clearance last Sunday.
My co-workers brought me this t-shirt and other things - from London.
Fake Keds - Real Adidas jacket.

First Shorts of 2011
I am going to wear this Royal Wedding tshirt all weekend long- except for a wedding we were invited to on Saturday night.
This LAMB dress I've been sitting on for about 2 years is coming out for that.

This Rat with Crazy-LOUD Generator happened outside my building and messed-up my post-wedding nap. I barely got any sleep last night due to texts from excited friends in different time zones.

On bicycle I went to M&J Trimmings. I know they're not the cheapest trim shop, but they're big and it's well-lit which makes me trips in and out easy and fast. Then I decided to go to TJ Maxx to kill time in case the rat was still at my house.

I saw Gloria Steinem in the street when I was on my bicycle at a stoplight. I didn't want to call out to her out of immense respect, but I gave a BIG SMILE and she reciprocated! I felt so special!

$16.99 at TJ Maxx today. Summer of Cheap lives on!
New Leopard Bag

But these hookers need to install a cute bike rack for me! I locked-up to a raggedy old sign.

This is a bar in my 'hood. I need a mug!

I looooved Kate's look this morning. And the guys too. I'm so happy a woman did the dress.
I was sad that the wedding happened, and I have nothing major to anticipate, but now I'm anticipating interviews where Sarah Burton will hopefully discuss the process of making the dress.

Major Upgrade

So I got this military parka jacket at TJ Maxx because it fit really well and the price was right. $24.99
Since I do fit-modeling for jackets I've gotten to the point where I can barely buy shitty cheap jackets anymore because I detect ill-shaped arm-holes, cross-shoulder width issues, etc.

I should also state that these pyramid-stud shaped buttons costed more than the whole jacket. I had to buy 12 buttons. I went to M&J Trimmings, which is kind-of a tourist destination, so that wasn't my best economical decision but it's super close to work.

Before - BLah Buttons:
Before - Blah Button
After - So Confident! Total Love:
After - New Button Make-over
After - New Buttons!

I sewed the buttons on my Friday night flight to Raleigh. I trotted up to the gate just in time for the "Final Boarding Call" then we were 3rd in line for take-off and I had six changed-out by the time the plane took off. There were 12 total.

Lesson learned - Button refreshers are amazing and it's a great idea to do something boring like sewing 12 buttons on a plane because you are trapped in there with nothing else to do but listen to your iPod and sew!

Here's detail of these sexy buttons:

Back from the Cornfield

Corn Girls
I'm back from North Carolina, and I'm tired, but I wanted to post a first, really cute pic of me and Kimberly busting out of the corn!

I also didn't wear the L.A.M.B. dress as planned. Instead, I scored a Roxy dress at TJ Maxx in Raleigh for $10 Saturday morning. We actually did some awesome shopping this weekend and I plan on giving a full review of every single item I bought, but we both got new, under $10 blue plaid/gingham-y dresses that we decided were best for this barn wedding. I think we chose wisely.

Tractor Girls

I actually had my eye on this ROXY dress too, but couldn't bring myself to ever pay $54.50 for it. Kim was like "Hey, you need to check this out." Score!
Dirty South Deals
And I can wear this to work and put a cardi on with it and I can ride the bicycle in it.

Sleep now. Bloggggg later.
