Shrimp & Grits and all that Good Shi*

Today I did NOT ride the bike. I took my sewing machine on the BUS and then the SUBWAY and it completely sucked. I was nervous someone might bang into it and break off one of the plastic parts that poke out and it was h-e-a-v-y.
This sucked
The great news is that it should be repaired tomorrow afternoon and I'll bring it home in a cab.

But I still got stuff done tonight. I made two no-sew tutus.
The black one will be for her cat look during the day, and she will add the purple one and corresponding belt for the witch look at night. She's going to be the most adorable witch ever.
No Sew Tutus After shape-up haircut
I actually made the ends of the tulle flat or straight-across, but then cut them into angles after it was done. I think it looks prettier for the edges to be in angles. I hung it here on the coat rack and sort-of gave it a tutu "haircut" I also wanted the purple layer to be shorter so the black would peek out beneath it.

After work today I was walking through Bryant Park and they are ASSEMBLING THE ICE-SKATING RINK! Time is going by too fast! It was just summer-summer-summertime!
Cape Monday

Cape Monday
This cape is another button make-over piece. The cape was about $34.99 at TJ Maxx a while back. Maybe last October, but the buttons were shameful and I got these fancy ones for it which were about $30. It's still overall an affordable, nice piece. And it even has pockets.

I was able to be productive in part tonight, because we had shrimp & grits leftovers.
I cooked on the dollhouse oven last night.
Getting organized.
This skillet looks HUGE on the tiny stovetop.
Shrimp & Grits

Of course it was a Martha Stewart recipe. And it was delicious.

Monday all over town

Chock full of activities! Small ones, but small ones add up- and I'm worn out and rode the bus a ton.

Here are the comfy & conservative new H&M pumps I bought yesterday. So cute, comfy & cheap I got brown and black. The brown ones are going to look aaaa-maaazing with jeans. Can't wait.

Got dressed-up and ready to get on the bus to mid-town bright and early:

I had a quick meeting at a cool fashion-industry job agency, then I was on my way to The Set Shop to make a $25 investment toward my eBay selling career. I stopped in at Burger King. Wow. 10:30am at BK. Lots of skanks to watch me eat.
This happened at 10:30am

It reminded me of this time... last week- when I was starving in Times Square. I went into McDonald's. Gross, I know. A teetering hobo type was asking for a dollar to add to his fist-ful of change to go toward a cheeseburger. I gave him a dollar.... He kept standing there asking more people for money! I was like "I thought you only needed a dollar!" and he said: "I'm going for a drink" then I was placing my order and I said "What do you want?" and he placed his order as if we were together - the workers were telling him to get out - he just ordered a snack wrap. I guess he was skipping the drink under the pressure of being tossed, although I feel like he gets tossed from a lot of places.

That story reminded me why Hobo Karma helped me to have a good birthday this past weekend.

Today was beautiful. Standing in the sun- when you could get some- felt amazing! I rode the bus a lot today.
Blue Sky!

This is Madison Square Park, still covered in snow and the Flatiron Building:

I did some cute mail today to some cute friends;

Last night I got the photos from my very short, free, impromptu photo shoot in Bryant Park.

The Leslie Hall show

I'm just going to put my favorite 3 and you can go to Flickr if you want more.

1. Leslie has lost weight. Kind of ruining the personae.
2. I got a pic with Mona Bonez! I have spoken to her like a geek before, this was not the first time.
3. This was at least my 4th, but perhaps my 5th Leslie Hall show.

Friday I laid in bed with the feeling of a nervous breakdown breathing down my neck over not having a job. I say this, because I didn't put on a cute outfit and contribute to wardrobe_remix. Getting dressed-up and taking pics of yourself don't cost a thing! However, I was stressing out but now I feel better.

Here's me & Bonez - I'm so happy to see her!

They now have a drummer and she added a lot to the already awesome sounds and she was a real down bitch if I ever did see one. And that's the cutest drum kit you've ever laid eyes on, I know.

Thursday... I got some free photos taken in Bryant Park by this photographer who I met when I first moved here. He took these old pics of me. I look at this make-up and realize how much I've been taught since I got here. This was taken in June 2007.

Some fashion blog took a pic, but you rarely find out where those end up. However, Paul's photos will be given to me and I can do whatever with them. He has a big plan to retire as a photographer out west and woo his potential clients with all the fashion-y NYC girls he shot. He's seems to be doing really well, because he shot me in between fashion shows he was covering.

I love that I got a photo shoot for the cost of round-trip BUS FARE! I've been a crazy bus-rider-lady since I quit my job. When you've got the time... riding the bus it the best way to get around, and you get to see other glamorous grannies!
