Safe and Courageous

This is a blissful week for us Rachel Maddow fans. Her book, Drift, came out this week. Some of us were able to see her the other night at Barnes & Noble. I've seen her in the flesh before, but never this close-up.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

The Adorable Rachel Maddow

I hate to be the one, or another one to discuss her looks, but I can't not. I almost burst my eyeballs straining to figure out what those sneakers were. They are adidas, but I pored over the adidas website and can't find the style.

She looked extremely thin. Once before when I saw her, she had thick muscular forearms like my husband. She was a string bean on this occasion. She was so fucking adorable. Sofa. King. Adorable. I think she blushed a little when the crowd went bat-shit for her upon entry. There are quotes from what happened here.

In The Proust Questionnaire on Vanity Fair.com, my heart was lit aglow by the final question:
What is your motto?
“Safe and courageous.”

When I walked through the book signing line, or I should say-
As I was quickly shoved through the extremely long book signing line, she looked up at me with an enthusiastic "Hi!" and to be brief and grateful I said "Thank you for being a good role model." And she said something like "Aww, that's so nice of you."
rachel maddow in my saddle bag!

I got to meet the person who runs The Best Maddow Fansite, MaddowFans. She was so sweet. She has no idea that she'll never get rid of me as an internet friend.

Blog Housekeeping

I updated my About Me page with an explanation of what I actually do at this workplace where I'm always riding my bicycle to these days.

Today I wore an easy, repeater outfit.  Went to Bed Bath & Beyond after work, (but it was a bust,) and now I'm in bed watching Maddow who I went to see Sunday night. I did a good job on my make-up! I was happy to escape our construction zone apartment!
YSL Mascara - Someone GAVE ME their tube because they tried it once and hated it. Score, me!
Cleaned up on Sunday
I'm wearing a Nude Viva Glam but I don't know which number. The nude one. That looks like Barbie skin.

Maddow was absolutely precious as usual. I don't think she would appreciate my calling her "precious" but she's precious to me! I couldn't tell what brand her sneakers were, but she had on some ill-fitting Levi's.

2 boys in line in front of me started BASHING the upcoming Pee Wee's Playhouse Broadway show, because there was a big poster for it above the line we were waiting in. Luckily, a handsome young man behind me spoke up and he and I started having a lovely conversation about how we can't wait to see it. I even already did the research and know that the cheapest seats for the Pee Wee B'Way show will run me about $70. Don't care!

Get ready, Matt!
