(Background info: This is the reorganization of our 375sf NYC apartment. I was pretty organized, but last weekend a professional organizer came over and now things are getting serious.)

I actually just followed LC's advice and made each area DEDICATED TO ONE CATEGORY OF STUFF. Very helpful.
So, now all the BOOKS & Photo Albums & Loose Photos are up in here. The cookbooks are on the lower left corner for easy access. Sure, there's an Original Nintendo and it's wires, cords and games, but they're in pretty white IKEA storage boxes.
The 2 Lower Shelves got some lovin' tonight too:

AFTER each shelf became dedicated to one category of stuff.
All of my Beauty Appliances are on the top shelf and all of the Tools & Apartment Parts on the lower.
